Cabinets, inside and out
Cabinets get opened one by one on a walk-through. All of them.
Empty every cabinet and drawer, vacuum the crumbs out of the corners, wipe the interiors, then degrease the exterior doors. Cabinet tops and the doors above the stove hold the heaviest grease.
Vacuum before you wipe
A damp cloth turns crumbs into paste in the corners. Use a vacuum hose along every interior seam first, then wipe.
The grease line above the stove
Cabinet doors within a metre of the hob collect an invisible film that catches the light. Degreaser or a warm solution of dish soap, left a minute before wiping, takes it off. Plain water only moves it around.
Shelf liner
If you put liner down, take it up. Adhesive residue underneath is worse than the bare shelf and reads as damage rather than dirt.
The tops
Cabinets that do not run to the ceiling have a ledge on top that collects dust and grease together. Nobody thinks about it and inspectors with a step stool do.
