Baseboards, door frames, and the sweep at eye level
This is the pass that separates a tidy flat from a cleaned one, and inspectors can tell instantly.
Vacuum baseboards with a brush attachment first, then wipe with a damp cloth, working along each wall. Do door frames, the tops of doors, switch plates and vents in the same pass.
Vacuum, then wipe
Baseboards hold dust and hair along the top edge. A damp cloth on dry dust makes grey streaks that are more visible than the dust was. Brush attachment first.
Do it as one lap
Walk each room once doing everything at that level: baseboards, door frames, the top edge of each door, switch plates, outlet covers, and vent registers. Doing them room by room rather than category by category saves a great deal of time.
Switch plates show fingerprints
Light switches around the kitchen and bathroom carry visible finger marks and are photographed more often than you would think.
