Pulling out the stove and fridge
The floor behind the stove is the clearest single signal of whether a clean was thorough.
Slide appliances forward on a towel or cardboard to protect the floor, clean the floor and the wall behind, then slide them back. Check the gas or water connection is undisturbed before you leave.
Protect the floor first
Appliance feet gouge vinyl and scratch laminate. A folded towel, a piece of cardboard, or furniture sliders under the front feet before you pull. A gouged floor is a far bigger charge than the crumbs you are chasing.
Watch the connections
A gas range has a flexible connector and a fridge may have a water line. Pull straight out and only as far as you need. If you smell gas at any point, stop, and call the utility rather than continuing.
Clean the wall too
The wall behind a stove carries grease spatter above the counter line. Degreaser, not water.
Put it back square
Sitting proud of the counter line or at an angle looks careless and invites a closer look at everything else.
